The bands have evenly spaced serrations on one side. By passing the end of the band through the heads, we tighten it to a certain size. It becomes impossible to withdraw (open) it without damaging it. The close arrangement of the teeth allows for precise adjustment of the loops to the circumference of the fastened element.
