The Alcolin Rainseal Membrane is a durable polyester fibre waterproofing solution, suitable for various applications. It measures 200mm x 10m and can be used with other products like Alcolin Rainseal, Bitumen Waterproofer, or Vinoseal to create a robust barrier, especially for areas prone to movement and leaks.

Application

 

Surface Preparation:

Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from any dirt, dust, oil, or loose material.

Repair any cracks or holes in the substrate before application.

 

Priming (Optional):

For highly porous surfaces, apply a primer to improve adhesion.

 

Cutting the Membrane:

Cut the membrane to the desired length, depending on the area to be covered.

Pre-cut pieces for corners and joints where additional coverage may be needed.

 

Applying the Waterproofing Compound:

Apply a generous layer of Alcolin Rainseal, Bitumen Waterproofer, or Vinoseal onto the surface using a brush or roller.

Ensure an even coat for optimal coverage and performance.

 

Laying the Membrane:

Immediately place the cut membrane onto the wet waterproofing compound.

Smooth it out using a roller or trowel to eliminate any air bubbles and ensure full contact with the surface.

 

Sealing the Edges:

Overlap the edges of the membrane by at least 50mm to ensure a seamless waterproof barrier.

Apply another layer of the waterproofing compound over the edges to secure them.

 

Second Coat (If Needed):

If a second coat is required, allow the first coat to dry completely before applying another layer of the waterproofing compound.

Repeat the application process as needed.

 

Curing Time:

Allow the waterproofing compound to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions before subjecting it to any water exposure.
