To reduce pH, sprinkle granules around the pool while the filtration system is running. To lower total alkalinity, pre-dissolve the granules in a bucket of water before adding to the deep end, then run the filter for several hours and retest. For vinyl or coloured liners, pre-dissolving is recommended to avoid bleaching. Always wear gloves and eyewear and never mix with other chemicals.
